The National Weather Service issued a weather advisory at 5:32 a.m. Sunday for light snow until 7:15 a.m. for North Westchester, South Westchester, Richmond (Is.), Kings (Brooklyn), Northwest Suffolk, Northeast Suffolk, Southwest Suffolk, Southeast Suffolk, North Queens, New and South Nassau, Orange, South Putna, South Nassau York (Manhattan) and Bronx counties.
“A light snow has formed in parts of the area and will continue to track from west to east across the area. It will be a short-lived event, but with temperatures well below freezing, anything that falls will coat the roadways. Expect a dusting of a tenth of an inch or two of snow. Slick surfaces are possible. If you’re traveling this morning, wait a little longer,” the weather service said.
