Elijah Moore promoted to Broncos after providing information on Bills

Elijah Moore was promoted from the Denver Broncos practice squad the day before the team’s divisional game against the Buffalo Bills. All he had to do to get promoted was share as much information as possible about his former team.

Moore, 25, signed a one-year deal with the Bills in late April. After the team didn’t make any significant moves at receiver in the offseason, there was a belief that Moore could break out in Buffalo.

It never happened.

Moore appeared in nine games with the Bills and finished with nine receptions for 112 yards. He added 24 yards and one score on six carries before the two sides agreed to part ways.

After his release, no team attempted to sign Moore to their 53-man roster. However, the Broncos signed Moore to their practice squad.

Moore hasn’t played in a game with Denver since joining the team, but he proved valuable before the divisional round. Before tomorrow’s game, Moore said he gave Denver as much information about Buffalo as possible.

“I did everything I could in the meetings,” Moore said via Chris Tomasson. “They asked me questions. Whatever they asked, I gave it to them.”

What Moore did before the divisional round is nothing new. Teams often consult with players who have previously spent time with their opponent. Time will tell how valuable Moore’s answers were to the Broncos.

Despite the elevation, there’s a good chance Moore will be among the Broncos’ inactives on Saturday. In that case, his promotion would be a reward for helping Denver prepare for Buffalo.
