Brandon Butler has been appointed ICC Women’s Football Coach

FULTON, Miss. – Itawamba Community College announced Monday the hiring of Brandon Butler as the next head coach of the women’s soccer program.

“We knew this was an important step in the future of our women’s soccer program and we wanted to hire someone who would continue to build on the success of this program,” said ICC President Dr. Jay Allen. “Coach Butler brings a track record of success, a commitment to developing young people and a servant-leader mindset shaped by his military service. We are proud to welcome Brandon and his family to ICC and look forward to seeing the program grow and represent our college and community well.”

Butler joins ICC after serving as an assistant coach and interim head coach for the University of Indianapolis women’s soccer program last season. Before that, he spent two seasons at Pearl River Community College, where he helped elevate the Wildcats to one of the top community college programs in the country.

During his time at Pearl River, the Wildcats were ranked in the top 10 nationally in 2024 and won the Region 23 and Gulf South District Championships in 2023 and 2024. The program also made NJCAA National Tournament appearances. Butler’s primary responsibilities included goaltending development and defensive organization, and the Wildcats posted their lowest goals-against average in program history while several players moved on to four-year programs.

“I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to lead the women’s soccer program at Itawamba Community College,” Butler said. “The ICC has a strong tradition of investing in its student-athletes, and I’m excited to build a program that will compete with toughness, organization and pride. My wife, Amy, and I are excited to join the community, and I can’t wait to work with our players as we lay the foundation for something special here.”

Prior to PRCC, Butler served as the head coach for four seasons at Picayune Memorial High School, where he built a consistent postseason contender and developed several college football players. His coaching background also includes work with Gulf Coast United and the Hattiesburg Futbol Club.

A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, Butler served as an infantry commander before moving into coaching.

“Brandon is the type of leader that fits exactly what we want our women’s soccer to be about,” said athletic director Dr. Chad Case. “He has been a part of championship-level programs, understands how to build a winning culture from the ground up, and his Marine Corps background speaks to the toughness, discipline and accountability he will bring to our student-athletes. We are excited to welcome Brandon to the ICC family and are confident he will lay a strong foundation for this program.”

Butler earned a master’s degree in interscholastic athletic administration from William Carey University and a bachelor’s degree in sports coaching education from the University of Southern Mississippi with academic work that also includes strength and conditioning. He is a graduate of Picayune High School.

The ICC will hold a press conference to officially introduce Butler as the new head coach on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at 10 a.m. in the Davis Event Center Lobby on the Fulton campus.
