The National Weather Service issued a snow shower advisory until 8:00 p.m. Monday at 7:19 p.m. for West Schenectady, East Schenectady, West Albany and East Albany, as well as Schoharie County.
“At 7:18 p.m. there was an area of heavy snow showers over Central Bridge or near Cobleskill moving east at 25 MPH,” the weather service explained.
Localities affected by the alert include Cobleskill, Duanesburg, Bern, Altamont, Schoharie, Delanson, Central Bridge, Knox, Princetown, Esperance, Duane, East Berne, Old Central Bridge, West Berne, Gifford, Grovenor Corners, Old Stone Fort, Quaker Street, Becker Corners and Shutts Corners. This includes the following freeways: Interstate 88 between exits 22 and 25. Interstate 90 near exit 25a.
The weather service adds, “Conditions can deteriorate quickly in winter weather situations. Be prepared for roads covered in snow or ice. Slow down and allow more time to reach your destination.”
