An ice storm warning is in effect for New York until Monday morning

At 7:23 p.m. Sunday, the National Weather Service issued an Ice Storm Warning in effect until 10 a.m. Monday for South Fulton, North Saratoga, North Warren, North Fulton and Southeast Warren, as well as Hamilton County.

“Significant icing. Total ice accumulation of up to 0.5 to 0.7 inches is expected,” according to the weather service. “A period of freezing rain is expected overnight into tomorrow morning. The freezing rain will gradually change to rain tomorrow morning as temperatures rise above freezing.”

“Roads and especially bridges and overpasses are likely to be slippery and dangerous. Very slippery sidewalks, roads and bridges are possible. Hazardous conditions could affect the Monday morning commute,” the weather service said. “If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food and water in your vehicle in case of emergency. Prepare for possible power outages.”
