A sleet and sleet weather warning was issued for Sullivan County Monday night

The National Weather Service issued a snow and ice advisory at 6:01 p.m. Monday for Sullivan County until 9 p.m.

“Snow showers are developing across the region early this evening. The snow may be locally heavy at times, reducing visibility to 1/2 mile. This, along with strong gusty winds, blowing snow and falling temperatures, will create snowy and slippery road conditions. Freezing of standing water into black ice is possible on untreated surfaces. Local accumulations of an inch and on the road will be possible until 9 p.m. hours to arrive safely at your destination,” adds the weather service.
