Ford Records Losses of 6.9 Billion Euros in 2025 Due to Cancellation of Electric Vehicles

Ford ended the 2025 financial year with losses of 8.2 billion dollars (6.9 billion euros), after profits of 5.9 billion dollars (five billion euros) in the previous year.

The reason for the losses were extraordinary losses, including 10.7 billion dollars (nine billion euros) resulting from the cancellation of its electric vehicle program.

This result failed to reflect the record revenues of 187.3 billion dollars (157.7 billion euros), which corresponded to a year-on-year increase of 1%.

The deterioration in results contrasts with the growth in turnover and is explained by the extraordinary costs linked to the electric vehicle strategy and restructuring, which penalized the accounts for the year.

The company specified that the losses were mainly due to amortizations and cancellations of tram programs, as well as other losses associated with industrial reorganization and investments in alliances.

Ford President and CEO Jim Farley said in a statement that the company “made difficult but critical strategic decisions” that allowed it to have a “stronger” future.

During the year, Ford sold 4,395,000 vehicles, 2% less than in 2024.
