All districts of mainland Portugal will be under yellow warning due to rain, sometimes heavy, until 6am on Monday: Viseu, Porto, Vila Real, Viana do Castelo, Braga and Aveiro (from 3pm on Sunday); Coimbra (since 6pm on Sunday); Santarém, Bragança, Guarda, Lisbon, Leiria and Castelo Branco (starting at 9pm on Sunday) and Portalegre, Évora, Faro, Setúbal and Beja (starting at 00am on Monday).
The IPMA also placed the districts of Bragança, Viseu, Porto, Viana do Castelo, Vila Real and Braga in yellow due to snowfall until 6:00 am today and, subsequently, between 12:00 pm and 11:00 pm on Monday.
Guarda and Castelo Branco are open this Saturday, for the same reason, with yellow lights until 9am and, on Monday, between 6am and 11pm.
The red warning is issued by IPMA in cases of extreme risk meteorological situations. The orange warning indicates a moderate risk meteorological situation high and yellow risk for certain activities depending on the weather situation.
The passage of depression Kristin through Portugal mainland, on Wednesday, left a trail of destruction, causing at least five deathsAccording to Civil Protection, several were injured and displaced. The Câmara da Marinha Grande counts yet another fatality in the municipality.
Falling trees and structures, cutting or conditioning of roads and transport services, especially railway lines, closing schools and power, water and communications cuts were the main material consequences of the storm.
Leiria, where the depression entered the territory, Coimbra and Santarém are the districts that recorded the most damage.
The Government declared a state of calamity between 00:00 on Wednesday and 23:59 on February 1st for around 60 municipalities.
