A freezing rain warning was issued in New York until Sunday evening

The National Weather Service issued a weather warning at 9:01 a.m. Sunday for freezing rain until 6:15 p.m. for Yates, Seneca, Cayuga and Onondaga counties.

“A brief period of freezing rain will be possible this afternoon as rain moves into the northern Finger Lakes region. Road temperatures are well below freezing in many areas. Be aware of bumpy icy roads when traveling this afternoon. Temperatures will quickly climb above freezing, limiting the threat of icy roads into the evening,” the weather service said.
