At least three people have died and two others were injured after a packed tourist boat capsized off the coast of Oman.
Police confirmed that 25 tourists of French nationality were on board the vessel at the time of the accident, along with a guide and the ship’s captain.


Emergency teams from the Civil Defense and Ambulance Bureau were immediately dispatched to the site near Muttrah in Muscat Governorate.
Three tourists were pronounced dead, two others suffered minor injuries and were treated by ambulances at the scene.
All other passengers were rescued.
Authorities said an investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the rollover.

Factors such as weather conditions and possible congestion are among the issues under investigation.
Officials have not released further details because the investigation is ongoing.
Efforts are also currently underway to provide support to the survivors and families of the victims.
It comes after a tourist ferry full of holidaymakers sank off the coast of Thailand after being hit by large waves in November.
The vessel, carrying 92 tourists and five crew members, reportedly suffered a fractured hull that caused it to quickly take on water.
All on board were rescued after Thai maritime authorities rushed response teams to the scene.
Rough seas are common in Thailand during November and December at the height of the monsoon season, although operators are often criticized for continuing trips in dangerous conditions.
Meanwhile, a day-trip catamaran also sank in the Caribbean off the coast of the Dominican Republic, stranding dozens of cruise passengers in the water.
The ship, which was carrying passengers from the cruise ship Mein Schiff 1, reportedly suffered internal hull damage and sank rapidly.
Footage showed around 55 people floating at sea as lifeguards arrived, throwing lifebuoys and pulling passengers to safety.
All survived after entering the water wearing life jackets.
