In an unexpected move within the United States Cabinet, President Donald Trump announced the replacement of Kristi Noem as head of the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). Oklahoma senator and former MMA fighter, Markwayne Mullin, has been appointed to take the reins of the country’s immigration strategy starting in April.
MARKWAYNE MULLIN: THE “MAGA WARRIOR” ARRIVES AT DHS
Through its platform Truth Socialthe US president described Mullin as a “MAGA warrior” with the strength necessary to advance the “America First” agenda.
Mullin, 48, has a career of 10 years in the House of Representatives and three in the Senate. Trump noted that his Native American ancestry positions him as a key defender of tribal communities, while his past as a mixed martial arts fighter gives him the “wisdom and steadfastness” to secure the border.
The objectives of the new owner:
- Keep the southern border secure.
- Intensify ICE raids to stop “immigration crime.”
- Continue with the deportation plan that, to date, has more than 65,000 expelled people and 1.5 million voluntary departures.
KRISTI NOEM’S NEW DESTINATION: “SHIELD OF THE AMERICAS”
Despite her departure from DHS, Kristi Noem is not leaving Trump’s inner circle. The former governor of South Dakota has been named Special Envoy for the Americas Shield, an ambitious security initiative for the Western Hemisphere.
This new project will be officially presented this Saturday, March 7 in Doral, Florida. Noem, who took office at DHS on January 20, 2025, will leave her current duties next Monday, March 30.
