Porto Brandão river station reopened this Thursday

The Porto Brandão river station, in the municipality of Almada, closed since February 11th after road access was closed due to landslides on the cliffs, resumed its activity this Thursday, February 26th, Transtejo announced.

Transtejo is responsible for connections between Seixal, Montijo, Cacilhas and Trafaria/Porto Brandão, in the district of Setúbal, and Lisbon.

“Due to the reopening of road access to Porto Brandão, by the competent authorities, the Porto Brandão River Station is reopened and in operation”says the company on its website.

From now on, the company says, regular service on this river connection is normalized.

On February 11, the city of Porto Brandão was evacuated due to the risk of landslides on the cliffs, and the only road giving access to the area was closed to vehicles.
