Greenvolt has secured €348 million in financing to build a 253.1 MW wind farm in the Ialomița district in southeastern Romania.
The project is part of the Wind Rose platform (506 MW) and is expected to enter commercial operation (COD) in 2027.
The operation was financed by a banking consortium composed of UniCredit, Erste Group Bank, Raiffeisen Bank, Société Générale, BRD (Groupe Société Générale SA) and Siemens Bank GmbH.
Greenvolt Power signed a sales contract with ENGIE Romania, concluded at the end of 2025, while maintaining responsibility for construction and commissioning until COD, when the transaction will be finalized.
João Manso Neto, CEO of the Greenvolt Group, states that “a project of this scale and characteristics naturally requires significant capital and a solid financial structure, which we have once again guaranteed with leading financial institutions. Their support clearly reflects confidence in our execution capabilities and our ability to deliver”, concludes the energy leader.
Adrian Góralski, Director of M&A e Project Finance of Greenvolt Power, adds that “the joint effort allowed us to develop a financing structure fully aligned with the scale and technical complexity of the asset, while ensuring the efficient allocation of the capital necessary to advance the construction of a flagship project for Greenvolt and Romania”.
In the country, the group has a portfolio utility scale which includes 555 MW wind, 77 MW solar and 156 MW in battery storage projects, in addition to activities in the distributed generation segment through Greenvolt Next.
