For Ukrainians, it is essential to kill 50,000 Russians every month, 42% more than current casualties. The Minister of Defense confirmed that this is the only possibility of maintaining pressure on Putin, forcing him to negotiate under pressure due to the death of more soldiers than he has the capacity to mobilize them.
We know that on the Ukrainian side there are fewer casualties, maybe half, maybe a little more. One way or another, thousands and thousands and thousands of men are no longer men, not counting the civilian victims, women, children, old people.
We stop seeing death, which is a paradox. Society has become more amoral than ever, but real death is no longer seen on television. When we tune in to the news and they warn us that the images may shock us, it is never death that we see… it is bodies wrapped in sheets, screams of loss, children’s tears, absent looks, wounds yet to heal, but not death.
