A 44-year-old man was arrested this Monday, March 16, in flagrante delicto, accused of the crimes of sexual abuse of children and pornography of minors, committed on a 13-year-old child.
The arrest was carried out by the Judiciary Police (PJ), through the Lisbon and Tagus Valley Directorate, after being informed by the school the minor attends, in Lisbon, of the existence of pornographic content on the child’s cell phone.
“The Sexual Crimes Investigation Section went to the school to carry out the appropriate precautionary measures and also found that the author of these contents was an acquaintance of the family, who had been in a romantic relationship with the victim for around a year”, indicates a note sent to the newsrooms.
The relationship began in 2024, “when the victim suffered face-to-face sexual abuse, on an occasion when the family met the suspect, on vacation, in the Algarve”.
The abuse stopped with the intervention of the PJ, which “continued with investigative measures and detained the attacker in the act of possession of digital pornography content of minors”.
The detainee will now be presented to the judicial authorities for first interrogation and application of appropriate coercive measures.
