At the age of 87, the Peruvian writer Alfredo Bryce Echenique, one of the great representatives of Latin American literature of the last decades, died this Tuesday.

Doctor of Literature from the University of San Marcos, he moved to Europe in 1964. He lived in France, Italy, Greece, Germany and Spain, but he moved to his country.
He was a professor at various French universities, an office compatible with writing. Through his novels and stories, the author created one of the most original narrative universes of Spanish literature of the late 20th and early 21st centuries, and is one of the most translated contemporary Spanish-American authors. His works have been awarded significant prizes.
