One of the most important underwater treasures in the Mediterranean is unearthed in Mallorca: the Roman ship of Ses Fontanelles


The ship, 12 meters long and dating from the 4th century, sank in front of what is today one of the most touristic beaches in Spain. It was loaded with 300 perfectly sealed amphorae filled with wine, oil and garum sauce. “The wood sounds as if it were new and we have found vine shoots that look like they have just been cut,” explain the experts.
