First the storm Kirstin and now the conflict with Iran. These two events complicated the management of national public accounts, recognizes the Minister of Finance, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento. In Brussels, participating in the meeting of Finance Ministers of the 27 Member States, the minister told journalists that “the path has become quite narrow again”, however, he added that he does not see, “as of today, a need for an amending budget”.
A position that is not definitive and that the development of the global geopolitical situation may change. “This does not mean that later on, if circumstances so require, this issue will not have to be reconsidered.but at this moment there is no need for an amending budget”, he highlighted.
The Minister of Finance reiterated “the commitment to maintaining the balance of public accounts and continuing to reduce public debt”.
