Bandidos do Cante take ‘Rosa’ to Eurovision: Portugal heading to Austria

The favorite song of the regional jury, made up of delegations from the North, Center, Lisbon and Vale do Tejo, Alentejo, Algarve, Madeira and Azores, was “Canção do Querer”, by João Ribeiro, which however only achieved two points in the public vote.

With the victory, Bandidos do Cante succeed the Madeiran group Napa as Portuguese representatives at Eurovision, in a year marked by several boycott threats due to the presence of Israel.

The 10 performers and songs competing in this final of the 60th edition of the RTP da Canção Festival were:

Bandidos do Cante (“Rosa”), André Amaro (“Give me your hand”), Dinis Mota (“Jurei”), Gonçalo Gomes (“Doce Ilusão”), EVAYA (“Sprint”), João Ribeiro (“Canção do Querer”), Marquise (“Chuva”), Nunca Mate o Mandarim (“Fumo”), Sandrino (“Willing to Everything”) and Silvana Peres (“No End”)
