“I asked who she was and one of the close ones explained it to me and I thought that this story would be a novella. Álvarez explained that “The Necessity to Love” is “an ode to freedom, to the freedom to be and to be able to love as we want; it’s a derecho that we all have to hold,” he affirmed.
On the other hand, he commented that it was “impressive” to make the transition from editor to writer. “I’m used to talking about other people’s books and talking about my own story. I want all (authors) to appreciate that I learned this office because of them and because of the work of their professional associates,” he said.
