Casa do Brasil resumes free information sessions for immigrants. The theme of this edition is renewals of residence permits. It will be explained how the renewal portal works, with openness to questions from participants.
The session will be led by CLAIM- Bairro Alto’s senior customer service technician, Victor Hastenreiter. THE meeting held in person, at the headquarters of Casa do Brasil in Lisbon. The date is Wednesday, March 4that 3pm. Participation is free, but registration is mandatory through from this link.
Immigrant document renewals have gone through different phases in recent years. With the end of the Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF), the procedure was left to the Institute of Records and Notaries (IRN), but it did not work effectively.
Thus, more than 374 thousand residence permits lost their validity. In July last year, the Government began an operation to renew older documents. At the same time, it launched a new portal for titles that had been expiring since July.
The site is open month by month in advance. At this time, immigrants with documents that expired by June can now apply. However, Criticism persists for the delay in sending cards.
