Apple launches iPhone 17e and iPad Air M4

NUEVA YORK (EFE).— Apple also unveiled the iPhone 17e and iPad Air models, which include most of their new processors and improvements in performance, connectivity and software features.

The company informs in a press release that both models will be available from next March 11, although reservations will begin this morning in Apple stores and authorized distributors in several countries, including Mexico, the only one mentioned in Latin America.

The iPhone 17e is “built to last” with a “durable and lightweight design” and features the A19 chip and the C1X model, which Apple says offers “higher speed and power efficiency than previous generations.”

It also features a 48-megapixel Fusion camera with a x2 telephoto lens that allows you to capture 4K photos and videos, as well as advanced portrait features. 6.1-inch Super Retina

The device also allows the use of satellite functions such as emergency SOS and messages, useful in areas without mobile coverage, connect to the company.

“iPhone 17e combines high performance with performance designed for the user, with a durable design and features that let you work and create more efficiently,” Kaiann Drance, Apple’s vice president of iPhone marketing, said in a press release.

On the other hand, the iPad Air features an M4 chip with an 8-core CPU, 9-core GPU and faster Neural Engine, up to 12GB of unified memory, and WiFi 7 and 5G support.

Apple assures that these improvements enable “higher performance for editing areas, video games and artificial intelligence applications”.

The iPad Air is available in 11- and 13-packs, with compatibility with the Apple Pencil Pro and Magic Keyboard, and with iPadOS 26, which offers an “enhanced twenty-year-old system, optimized file management and advanced product features”.

“iPad Air offers users more ways to be creative and productive, with the superior performance and versatility they need for their everyday lives,” said Bob Borchers, Apple’s vice president of product marketing, in a separate press release.

In the current market, the iPhone costs $17,599 (14,999 pesos) for 256GB, while the iPad Air costs $599 for the 11-connector model and $799 (19,999 pesos) for the 13-pin model.
