Neemias Queta leads Celtics to historic victory over 76ers with memorable performance

Queta’s impact began early. In the first half he scored 16 points, establishing his best record in half a game. In the final phase, with around five minutes remaining, he equaled his previous career high (19 points) through a free throw. Shortly after, he surpassed that mark with an insistence on the basket and added six more points, between free throws and shots in the painted area, sealing a memorable night.

The Portuguese finished as the Celtics’ top scorer, equal to Jaylen Brownwhile the Sixers point guard Tyrese Maxey he was the biggest scorer of the match, with 33 points. Brown, who also played a decisive role in the triumph, was full of praise for his teammate: he stated that he was not surprised, but satisfied with the pivot’s progress and convinced that he can reach an even higher level.

The Portuguese international’s performance also had historical significance within the franchise itself. Queta became the first Celtics player since Robert Parish in 1989 to score more than 25 points and at least ten offensive rebounds in a single game — clear indicator of the dominance exercised under the tables. The public recognized the performance with chants of “MVP”, and his teammates welcomed him into the locker room with enthusiastic applause.
