Global public opinion is apparently dominated by anxiety regarding bombastic revelations about the “greats” of this world.
They would have us believe that a certain “elite” who move between the gilded halls of royalty, globe-trotting private jets and idyllic locations have literally been caught in skimpy outfits. And, to make everything a little more sordid and appealing, some pedophile powders are added. If that were the case, we would be in the grip of the pink press and police cases. But it doesn’t seem like that to me.
It seems that the intention is to cultivate a certain idea of a decadent societal environment in which we are all sinking and distracted, passing by a more credible, more perennial and more relevant reality in the long History of Humanity: information, influence, money and power.
It gives us the feeling of being faced with a huge smokescreen that takes us into the disclaimer of “stairwell gossip”, at the same time that makes us forget the real problems. The censorship of those who should have acted and did not act, and, it should also be said, the real motivations of a global criminal network.
Meanwhile, the world has another view of the most relevant global risks, as demonstrated in a recent survey by World Economic Forum.
The WEF identifies geoeconomic confrontations, disinformation, radicalization of society and armed conflicts between States as short-term risks. As for the long term, interviewees prioritize extreme meteorological phenomena and a decrease in biodiversity, negative consequences of technologies, cybersecurity and inequalities.
Now, what seems to be happening on a global scale is that neither the essential issues nor the real dimension of the archives scandal are being discussed. The alcove is discussed.
In fact, as information becomes available, what stands out to an average reader are perverse and hidden relationships of power and complicity between those who could never have had them; it is an unmeasured financial greed that overrides everything, including States and their vital interests; They are the “feet of clay” of many protagonists that, for decades, we have taken as references.
Pedophilia is a crime and as such should be treated with the harshness it deserves. Unfortunately, there is almost no news of convictions. It appears that the sexual dimension of the scandal is the “least” of the problems. What is truly worrying is that the world continues to not know or debate what Western leaders did, either on their own initiative or at the “suggestion” of others.
The real question is only about the bedroom to the extent that it is relevant to know “who got into bed with someone who shouldn’t have”. We can continue to cultivate news item or choose to think and act. Truly, what we seem to have is an elite devoid of principles, references and loyalty to their states and their fellow citizens.
