The Portuguese Association of Insurers (APS) estimates that the compensable damages due to my time in Portugal already reach 750 million euros, having received around 140 thousand claims.
The data was passed on by the president of the APS, João Galamba de Oliveira, to the Budget, Finance and Public Administration Committee, and the president of the association detailed that, in relation to the number of claims already reported, 115 thousand are residential insurance, 13 thousand are commercial and industrial activity insurance and 9.5 thousand are car insurance.
According to Galamba de Oliveira, this amount, 750 million euros, is almost as much as what was paid in the last 20 years, 1,000 million euros.
