Government extends support regime and simplification measures to the entire territory

This Thursday, February 26, the Government approved a decree-law that extends “the support regime and simplification measures” that were in force for around 90 municipalities to the entire territory, as long as it is proven that the damage was due to the storms.

“If they have the same type of damage linked to these types of events, they deserve the same support”stated the Minister of the Presidency, António Leitão Amaro, at the press conference at the end of the weekly meeting of the Council of Ministers.

The minister highlighted that the government has always said it is available to expand support beyond the approximately 90 municipalities that were covered by the state of calamity.

According to Leitão Amaro, the decree-law approved this Thursday determines that, throughout the territory, for recovery interventions that have had damage caused by this sequence of storms “it is possible to benefit from this support regime and procedural speed”.

Inclusion in this regime depends on the recognition of municipalities and the CCDR, in the case of municipal works.
