Energy recovery in areas affected by bad weather “practically complete”

“We have already recovered 100% of our customers, with only a few specific situations remaining that will be resolved very soon, but I think the worst is over”said Miguel Stilwell d’Andrade, in the conference call with analysts as part of the presentation of the 2025 results.

The manager recalled that Portugal was hit by “a series of devastating storms”, which began at the end of January and lasted until February and recorded winds exceeding 200 kilometers per hour, which caused “unprecedented physical damage to the country’s infrastructure”, including the company’s electrical networks and assets.

The storm affected around 6,000 kilometers of network and damaged approximately 5,800 towers, with around 2,400 people mobilized on the ground, including teams from Spain, Brazil, France and Ireland.

The manager highlighted that the response was “immediate”, with “very coordinated and large-scale” support from internal and external teams. “We had people coming from Spain, Brazil, France and Ireland,” he said, thanking the contribution of the grid and hydroelectric plant teams, who “worked around the clock to limit the damage caused by the storm and restore power to our customers.”
