EDPR Records Profit of 216 Million in 2025 After Reversing Loss

EDP Renováveis (EDPR) returned to profits in 2025, with a reported net profit of 216 million euros, an increase of 770 million compared to the loss of 556 million recorded in 2024.

The recurring net profit stood at 330 million euros, an increase of 50% compared to 2024, “supported by the strategy of concentrating growth in low-risk markets, with emphasis on the USA and Europe”.

The board of directors will propose the distribution of 132 million euros in flexible option dividends (scrip dividend), equivalent to 0.13 euros per share. EBITDA rose 27% to 1,947 million euros, while revenues increased 16% to 2,688 million euros.

The company says that the reported net profit includes a non-recurring negative impact of 114 million euros, resulting, among other things, from impairments in Europe and the “accelerated depreciation” of the Meadow Lake IV wind project, in the process of repowering in the USA.

Electricity production reached 40.6 TWh, an 11% growth driven by a 14% increase in average installed capacity. Despite this, renewable resources, especially wind, were below the long-term average (5% below in the total for 2025 and 9% below in the 4th quarter).

The average selling price was €53/MWh, a 10% reduction compared to 2024, which the company attributes to the normalization of prices in Europe. Gross investment fell to 2.4 billion euros, compared to 4.1 billion in the previous year, reflecting the greater focus on lower risk markets — with the USA and Europe concentrating 90% of investments.

Net debt ended the year at R$8,109 million. For 2026, management anticipates recurring EBITDA of R$2.1 billion.
