The facts beyond the propaganda raise alarm bells. The European Union (EU) is not just committed to prolonging the war in Ukraine, denying any contribution to building peace and collective security solutions that are necessary for that country and for the entire European continent.
What the EU has going on at the moment is a very dangerous escalation of the war, adding new elements of confrontation that threaten the future of all European peoples.
Ukraine and the Ukrainian people are used as cannon fodder in this confrontational policy. The thousands of deaths and the destruction that already exists do not weigh on Brussels’ accounts. The EU insists that the only solution it accepts is military and that the war must continue.
From Brussels we only hear criticism and caricature of any and all movements that are made or proposed to achieve a political and diplomatic solution. The EU protests at being left out of all negotiating tables, but it only talks about peace as a pretext to continue calling shots.
Alternating with the United States in the leading role in the warmongering drift, the EU is now raising the bar to levels of insanity.
The European Commission, the European Council and the vast majority of the European Parliament take decisions in which they inscribe the intention to bomb the territory of a nuclear power using precision and long-range weapons. For this path, they are preparing golden shoes that the arms multinationals will wear. They blindly justify these decisions with arguments that put European cities at risk as targets of a potential response to those bombings. They completely disregard all facts and arguments of rationality that show the insanity of the step they intend to take. They prevent open debate when discussing these decisions. They hide from the people the disaster they are causing.
The people of the countries that make up the EU risk seeing their future sacrificed even more by becoming involved in a war into which they are being pushed at high speed. The economic and social problems that affect your daily life don’t matter at all. And they cannot trust your solution, because the money that is missing for that answer is being diverted to the business of producing the weapons that will only bring more death and destruction.
The EU already surpasses the US in spending on the war in Ukraine. There are 193 billion euros that have come out of Brussels’ coffers in the last four years to support the madness of this billion-dollar war business. Now another 90 billion is added to finance the delirium of this escalation defended and supported by the EU. It pays the EU budget, which is the same as saying that they pay the people with their living conditions.
And they will pay with their lives unless they stand up to impose the peace solutions that war hawks do not want to hear about when they sit at the table of councils of ministers or EU institutions.
