Benfica beats Sporting 4-3 in Luz in the first leg of the futsal Champions League quarter-finals

A goal from Diego Nunes, in the final seconds, guaranteed this Monday, February 23, Benfica’s home victory over Sporting, 4-3, in the first leg of the futsal Champions League quarter-finals.

At the Fidelidade pavilion, at Estádio da Luz, four days after having drawn 2-2 in the 16th round of the Portuguese futsal championship, the teams reached it equal at half-time, after Bruno Pinto scored, in the 15th minute, for the Lions, and Jacaré, in the 19th, for the Reds.

In the second half, Alex Merlim (28) put Sporting ahead, with Benfica level with Arthur, at 31. Zicky Té scored for the ‘lions’, 39 seconds later, Raúl Moreira (33) returned to tie the match with three goals, and Diego Nunes, at 40, guaranteed Benfica’s triumph, which recovered from three deficits.
