This Sunday, February 22nd, Sporting won the Portuguese Basketball Cup for the ninth time, beating FC Porto, 86-84, winner of the last two editions.
In the final played in Albufeira, the Lions, who trailed at half-time by 46-45, recovered a trophy that had eluded them since 2021/22.
Benfica, who fell in the round of 16 against Sporting de Braga, remains the team with the most triumphs in the Portuguese Cup, 23 in 77 editions, seven more than FC Porto and 14 more than Sporting.
