What changes for Brazilians in Portugal?

Contrary to what has been published about Directive 1233 of the European Union (EU), which will come into force from May 21st, this mechanism does not guarantee Brazilians and other immigrants with residence permits in Portugal free movement in the EU to work.

The objective of the directive is not the mobility of professionals within the EU, but rather, as the text itself states, “simplify labor migration procedures for nationals of non-EU countries (‘third country nationals’) and ensure equitable treatment of these workers”.
