The city of Adelaide will host the MotoGP Australian Grand Prix from 2027, in a historic change to the world championship calendar. The new urban circuit will be 4.195 kilometers long and have 18 curves, offering speeds exceeding 340 km/h, according to data released by local authorities and the organization of the competition.
The route was publicly presented by the Prime Minister of the Australian state of South Australia, Peter Malinauskas, and the category’s sporting director, Carlos Ezpeleta. The drawing is partially based on the old urban circuit used by Formula 1 between 1985 and 1995, although it has been deeply modified to comply with the current safety requirements defined by the FIM.
