Ryanair plane bound for London evacuated in Faro due to suspected fire

A Ryanair plane bound for London was, on the afternoon of Wednesday, February 18, evacuated at Gago Coutinho Airport, in Faro, Algarve, due to a “suspected fire”, which ended up not being confirmed.

An emergency was declared, so “all means of assistance appropriate to the situation” were mobilized and the passengers were removed from the plane “and taken to the terminal”, reported ANA Aeroportos, according to the JNwhich states that the incident on the plane bound for Stansted airport, in London, occurred at 5:16 pm. More than a hundred emergency and relief resources were mobilized.

After an inspection, the suspicion of fire on board was not confirmed and, at 5:45 pm, emergency services were demobilized.

At least one person was injured during the evacuation, says the diary, stating that it was a woman, a member of the crew, who was taken to Faro Hospital.
