Impressive encounter: Deer licks man’s camera and then calmly walks away – WATCH THE VIDEO!

In a recent video captured in the Scottish Highlands, a wild deer can be seen approaching a hiker and coming so close that its breath fogged up the surprised man’s camera lens.

This ‘magical’ moment was recorded by Craig, who tours Scotland in a motorhome and shares his adventures as the Roaming Thistle on social media.

A week ago on a Saturday, Craig was walking through Glencoe with his camera when he spotted a male red deer, an iconic symbol of Scotland’s wild landscapes, and slowly approached it to record a video.

“I wasn’t expecting anything more than a quiet moment watching wildlife,” said Craig, who purchased the campervan to explore Scotland and make memories with his family.

“The deer approached calmly, without bothering, and gently brushed against the camera lens.

“As I exhaled on it, the lens briefly fogged up, which somehow made the moment feel even more magical before it continued on its way silently.”

The traveler expressed feeling a mix of disbelief and privilege after the interaction.

“Encounters like that are incredibly rare, and it was really special to witness such calm and natural behavior from a wild animal.”

Known as the Highland deer, the male red deer (Cervus elaphus scoticus) is Britain’s largest land mammal, famous for its towering branched antlers that can extend up to 45 inches (more than a meter).

“It was one of those moments that stays with you, not because it was dramatic, but because it was quiet, intimate and completely on the deer’s terms.”

“It just goes to show that the Highlands’ most majestic residents are also its most curious!”
