PARIS, France.- This Friday, local authorities reported that three people died in the ski resort of Val d’Isère victims of a snow avalanche which occurred when they were skiing in an off-piste area.
The avalanche occurred around noon and dragged a group of five skierswho were equipped (avalanche radio transmitter, shovel and probe) and accompanied by a professional, said the Town Hall of Val d’Isère.

Despite the rapid intervention of rescue servicesthree of the five people affected died, according to the same source.
The risk of avalanches is especially high in the Alps this Friday.
Weather France has classified the massif of the Vanoisewhere is located Val d’Isèreas well as most of the massifs of the northern Alps, with a level of “high” avalanche riskon a scale of 4 out of 5.

According to the Hautes-Alpes Prefecturetwenty-two people have lost their lives in avalanches in France since the beginning of the season, the majority since January, with a particularly black weekend on January 10 and 11, in which six deaths were recorded.
