Mexico and China strengthen ties during a working visit to Beijing

The Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs, María Teresa Mercado Pérezand the Undersecretary of Industry and Commerce of the Ministry of Economy, Vidal Llerenas Moralesthey concluded a working visit to China, where they held meetings with Chinese officials to deepen bilateral political and economic dialogue.

During your stay in Beijingthe Undersecretaries met with the Vice Minister of Commerce and Trade Representative of China, Li Chengangand with the Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Cai Wei, to discuss topics such as trade, technological innovation and cooperation in public health and intelligent water management.

Mexico and China have a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership since 2013, and this year marks 54 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The working visit seeks to balance the trade balance and strengthen the bilateral relationship.

Among the agreements reached, the commitment to work on more balanced business flows and strengthening supply chains to benefit the Mexican industry. Cooperation in technological innovation, public health and intelligent management of agua was also prioritized.

The working visit underscores Mexico’s intention to fstrengthen the relationship with China and take advantage of the opportunities cooperation in areas of common interest.
