The Musketeers group, through the Intermarché banner, decided to advance payments to national producers worth approximately nine million euros, to support these partners following the impact of bad weather on the agricultural sector.
“The initiative translates into a temporary reduction in payment deadlines for producers integrated into the Origens Program, allowing companies to reinforce their liquidity and treasury at a particularly challenging time for the primary sector”, explained this Friday, the 13th, the group, in a statement.
This exceptional support measure comes into force immediately, the company detailed, and the Origins Program currently involves 525 producers and more than 50,000 tons of products.
“This advance payment is a concrete measure to support national production and a way of reinforcing our commitment to those who work daily to guarantee quality food to consumers”, defended the president of Grupo Mosqueteiros, Paulo Mendes, cited in a statement.
