A1 closed and transport suspended in Lisbon due to bad weather

Long-distance trains on the Northern Railway Line between Porto and Lisbon were suspended for safety reasons due to the worsening of the weather and with no expectation of resumption, according to CP.

On Thursday, at 8pm, CP had informed that it planned to partially resume today eight long-distance trains, four per direction, between Porto and Lisbon, using different rolling stock than usual and road transfer between Coimbra B and Pombal.

“Due to the worsening of the weather, with a risk of flooding in the Coimbra region, for safety reasons, long-distance services on the Northern Line, on the Porto-Lisbon axis, were suspended, with no plans for resumption”, CP reported at 11:30 pm on the social network Facebook.

Due to bad weather, railway traffic is suspended on the Southern Line between Luzianes and Amoreiras, on the Alentejo Line, between Pegões and Bombel, on the Beira Baixa Line and Line between Abrantes and Ródão, on the Douro Line, between Régua and Pocinho, the West Line and Urbanos de Coimbra.

On the Cascais Line, trains run with timetable changes.

CP continues to plan for the Celta International Train to take place today, with “different rolling stock being used than usual and the route Valença – Vigo – Valença will be made using road transfers”.
