Only municipalities experiencing calamity are eligible for simplified support
The Ministry of Agriculture clarified this Thursday that only municipalities experiencing calamity are eligible for simplified support, therefore, in others it is not possible to convert a declaration of losses into an application.
The National Confederation of Agriculture (CNA) questioned the Government, this Wednesday, about the lack of clarity in support for the sector, due to the bad weather, pointing out that the available forms refer to a declaration of losses and not to an application.
The CNA said that when farmers access the forms, available at the CCDR – Regional Coordination and Development Commissions, a message is displayed that says that the “procedure does not correspond to an application”, thus being a declaration of losses.
The Ministry of Agriculture specified today, in response to Lusa, that the forms for declaring losses are open for the entire continental territory.
However, only municipalities experiencing calamity are eligible for simplified support of up to 10,000 euros.
“In the municipalities covered, the declaration of loss automatically becomes an application. In other municipalities, as they are not covered, the declaration of loss cannot correspond to an application”he explained.
Regarding support for the forest, another question raised by the CNA, the Ministry of Agriculture said it will open a specific form, “which will be ready soon”, without giving dates.
Aid for the forest is therefore not eligible for simplified support, as it will have specific measures.
