The appetite for the series supports a significant part of the work Jesus Aguado (Madrid, 1961, although installed in Barcelona for several years), and will be very present in his new book, A sweet fruit that comes from the edge of the abyss which is based on the title of the classical Hindu poet Damodar Gupta.

A rich book and full of light, opened by two series that are an expensive option for the same coin, Eros and Thanatos: in the first place, the invocation “I admire and I am introduced” leaves a torbellino of images to celebrate the union of lovers and in this union the whole world is involved, of flora and fauna, joys and senses, and considers the act of love: “I admire and there are lists to be made / y deshacerse enteros pieza by pieza / no mechanism without imantacion”.
The endecasílabo text remains in the second line, the Book of the text, from which the formula the “Tú, voyagero, detente” he creates a collection of epitaphs that oscillate between wisdom and humor, violent expletives and friendly advice.
And the same vitalism resonates, which is a characteristic feature of this work, his vocation to move: “I travel, calla y sigue, no te pares. / Mientras puedas go no te tengas. / A step that no one sees me from here”.
Other series incorporate four parts of the book, such as “Kali,” a plegaria that praises the Hindu god with the gift of “desposesión,” without the weight of fear or desire; or hermoso “In Praise of Lentitude and Borradores” which overlays variations on the verse “Mientras tú pomo”.
The book contains two collections of poetry, the last of which, “Niño y trompo”, contains a haiku of the same name Octavio Paz defend life with joy and happiness “Apologetic Politics for Innocence”. A relaxing combination.
