It is common for theater plays to be successful in Brazil and then come to Portugal. But an opposite path will be opened with the play A Life of Friendshipcom Adriana Garambone, Helena Fernandes and Sílvia Pfeifer. The premiere will be on Portuguese soil and then the presentation will continue in Brazil.
“We are very happy with this premiere in Portugal. We know how much the Portuguese respect Brazilian theater and We are very excited about this unprecedented experience of debuting first in Portugal and then taking to the Brazilian stage.. The Chiado group is inaugurating a path that could become fashionable”, they tell DN Brazil the actresses.
The play is a comedy about friendship, especially after the age of 40, “addressing the challenges and existential doubts of this age group, the desires and discoveries that now challenge thembecause they are women who choose their paths and try to live with intensity”. The text is signed by Gustavo Pinheiro, author of the box office hit Two of Us.

According to the artists, the piece shows that “Friendship between women is fundamental to staying mentally healthy, with an active social life and a support network for any and all women’s issues.” Adriana Garambone, who will play the character Yasmin on stage, tells the newspaper that “the more complex the character, the more creative possibilities it offers us”. The work is directed by Fernando Philbert.
Helena Fernandes reflects that mood changes over time. “In the mature phase, comedy becomes a synthesis of life. She carries pain transformed into grace, failures converted into stories, scars that now make us laugh. The stage stops being a place of escape and becomes a real place. Comedy, then, stops being just a genre”, he analyzes.
A Life of Friendship it also marks the return of Sílvia Pfeifer to the theater. “For some time now I have wanted and felt the need to step on stage again. I had two other piece projects in addition to this one. I hope I won’t be away from the theater for so long”, he says.
A premiere will be in Bragaon March 6th, at Espaço Vita. Afterwards, the production goes to the Francisco de Assis Auditorium, in Porto, on March 14th.
