The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) ordered the withdrawal from the market of more than six thousand promotional packages of M&M’safter detecting undeclared allergens in products distributed in 20 states of that country.
Beacon Promotions Inc. issued the recall on January 26 and officially classified it on February 4 as Class II, a category that applies when the use of the product can cause temporary adverse effects or medically reversible or when the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.

The health authority warned that the recalled products May contain milk, soy and traces of peanutswithout having the mandatory warnings on its labeling, putting the safety of people allergic to said foods at risk.
According to the information released, promotional packages of 1.3 ounces of M&M’s in presentation with peanuts and classics distributed in: Alabama, Arizona, California, Florida, Iowa and Kansas, Kentucky, Maryland, Massachusetts, Minnesota and New York, North Carolina, Ohio, Pennsylvania and South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Virginia, Washington and Wisconsin.
The packages of these peanut chocolates that were recalled were labeled “Make Your Mark”, with code lot M1823200 and expiration date of April 30, 2026.

On the other hand, the Classic M&M’s were distributed in multiple promotional formats to corporate and event brands como Subaru, Adobe, Morgan Stanley, Best Western, Dropbox DocSend y Berkshire Hathaway Guard Insurance Companies.
Other lots recalled were: L450ARCLV03, L502FLHKP01, L537GMHKP01 and L523CMHKP01, the FDA detailed.
