Another weekend with rain has arrived in Lisbon and this indicates that it will continue. Fortunately, for those who want to leave, there are options in closed spaces with a lot of culture. This weekend’s agenda features exhibitions, free events and a concert with the duo Maiara and Maraísa, opening the “country year” in Portugal. The column The good is in the air!

Exhibition Prayer to Timeat Casa Oxente

The collective exhibition starts on Monday, February 9th Prayer to Timeinspired by the song of the same name by Caetano Veloso. Curated by Wilame Lima. “the exhibition invites the public to think of time not just as duration, but as an agent that crosses bodies, images, landscapes and affections”. Prayer to Time brings together works by Anne Carestiato, Duarte Esmeriz, Igor Oliveira Prado, Rita Almeida, Simbraz Roberto, Wellington B. Dantas.

samba circle Brazilian Table supportive

The project Brazilian Tablea samba circle, has a new edition this weekend. The restaurant “O Nelson”, in Sete Rios, welcomes a group of Brazilians to liven up the entire afternoon. Given the heavy rains of recent days, The artists ask that each participant bring a kilo of non-perishable food to donate. Hoping that the weather cooperates, the artists invite everyone to participate and help others.

When? Saturday, February 7th, from 2pm

How much? 1 kg of non-perishable food for donation.

Samba at Fábrica Braço de Prata

There will be a lot of samba at Fábrica Braço de Prata this weekend. On Saturday, it’s Coletivo Gira’s day, which now puts on weekly shows at the venue. On Sunday, the Secretinho Carnival group will hold an open rehearsal, starting at 4pm, with collaborative entry, meaning everyone pays as much as they can to help keep the culture alive. Then the rhythm continues, with Samba de Apuração. Everyone invited to celebrate Brazilian culture.

How much? Collaborative entry (with the exception of samba by the Gira collective, which costs 7 euros in advance and 10 euros at the door).

Maiara and Maraísa

The duo Maiara and Maraísa perform in Lisbon this Saturday, after passing through Porto the night before. The artists are from the generation called “feminejo”, a style that has consolidated itself in Brazil in recent years with female singers who bring crowds to the stage. The presentation will be at Campo Pequeno, starting at 9 pm.

How much? There are only tickets left for the Golden Circle, priced at 75 euros.

Atlantic Camarata

The Camerata Atlântica project presents the show Verde e Amarelo, with music by Brazilian composers. The event will be at the Ajuda National Palace and will have the presence of violist Jennifer Stumm, an American based in Brazil. The concert is directed by Ana Beatriz Manzanilla.
