The World Economic Forum (WEF), organizer of the Davos summit, announced this Thursday that it will hold a independent review of its CEO’s interactions with the deceased sex offender convinced Jeffrey Epstein.
Borge Brende and his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein
The former Norwegian Foreign Minister Borge Brende, 60, has chaired the Forum since 2017, which organizes the annual gathering of the super-rich and powerful in the Swiss ski resort of Davos.

“The WEF seeks to clarify recent revelations about its president and CEO, Borge Brende, and his involvement in three business dinners with Jeffrey Epsteinalong with subsequent communications by email and SMS“, reported the forum.
“In light of these interactions, the board of directors recommended that the audit and risk committee investigate the matter, which subsequently decided to initiate an independent review.”
The Geneva-based organization stated that Brende would continue to perform his duties in the WEF, without participating in the review process.
Brende was mentioned more than 60 times in the millions of new Epstein documents released last week by the U.S. Department of Justice but appearing in the released Epstein files does not in itself imply any wrongdoing.
Epstein pleaded guilty in 2008 to child prostitution and served 13 months of an 18-month sentence. He later faced sex trafficking charges when he committed suicide in jail in 2019.
Brende stated in a statement that during a visit to New York in 2018, he received an invitation for former Norwegian Deputy Prime Minister Terje Rod-Larsen to dine with him along with other leaders, as well as “someone who introduced me to him as an American investor, Jeffrey Epstein.”
Brende said he was “completely unaware of Epstein’s past and criminal activities” but acknowledged he could have done more thorough research into his history and regretted not doing so.
