MIAMI.- It is reported that more than 150 migrants, including citizens of Mexico and Central America, were detained after a three-day joint operation by the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) from the United States and Florida authorities, according to immigration authorities.
It should be noted that the operation involved Border Patrol and Florida Highway Patrol (FHP) as part of “287(g) agreements.”
Local authorities collaborate with ICE
These agreements allow local authorities to collaborate in immigration activities, ICE indicated on its social networks.
The publication notes that “152 illegal criminal aliens caught in a three-day ICE operation in Florida.”
“We deported 23 on the second day aloneworking with our 287(g) partners, such as the Florida Highway Patrol and other state and local law enforcement agencies.”

On the other hand, ICE published photographs of four detainees, including a Mexican guilty of frauda Guatemalan suspected of cruelty against a child.
Also a Honduran who spent eight years in prison for an attack with a weapon and another migrant from Honduras accused of domestic violence.
The agency maintained that the operation was for “get criminals like these out of the neighborhoods”although it did not specify which cities were involved.
Florida spent 573 million dollars
It should be noted that the operation transcends hours after it was revealed that the Florida government spent 573 million dollars on immigration operations of a fund destined for emergencies in the last three years.
The above is according to a report from Governor Ron DeSantis’ Administration sent to the local Congress and leaked to the press.
DeSantis, who last week maintained that “no other state has done more than Florida” to promote immigration operations, has forced all authorities locals to sign 287(g) agreements to cooperate with ICE in arresting migrants.
Likewise, he recalled that this has led to the arrest of 20 thousand migrants in the last nine months in Florida.
