Traffic is closed on the A5, at kilometer 4, towards Cascais – Lisbon due to an accident with a light goods vehicle that is on fire, according to Brisa and the Algés fire department.
According to a note from BRC – Brisa Concessão Rodoviária, traffic is being diverted to CRIL – Cintura Regional Interna de Lisboa.
A source from the Algés Volunteer Firefighters told Lusa that a light goods vehicle caught fire, giving no further details about injuries or the state of traffic already accumulated on the road.
Km 4 of the A5 towards Cascais-Lisbon is located near Alfragide / Damaia / Monsanto (Lisbon), close to the exit for CRIL (A36).
The A5 connects Lisbon to Cascais with a total route of around 30 km, being one of the main entry/exit routes to the capital.
