The Pedrógão Grande Municipal Civil Protection Service issued this Tuesday, February 3, a warning to the population due to the high risk of electrocution following the damage caused by depression Kristin in the municipality. The passage of bad weather caused significant damage to electrical supply networks, with poles and cables broken or falling onto public roads.
According to authorities, many of the damaged cables remain under tension, posing a serious danger to the safety of people and animals. Civil Protection therefore calls for maximum precaution and asks the population to avoid any contact or proximity to affected electrical infrastructures.
These are the main recommendations:
– 𝐍𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐚 𝐭𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞 on fallen or damaged electrical cables
– Remove suspicious poles, cables or structures
– 𝐍𝐚̃𝐨 𝐬𝐞 𝐚𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐱𝐢𝐦𝐞 even if the cables appear to have no power
– 𝐒𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐞 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐜̧𝐚̃𝐨 and immediately contact the competent authorities
E-Redes maintains teams on the ground, working to restore the electricity supply throughout the municipality, with the aim of reestablishing normality “as quickly as possible”, informs the Pedrógão Grande Civil Protection, adding that occurrences related to the electrical network must be communicated through the E-Redes digital platform.
