A man, a public transport driver for children, was arrested on suspicion of committing a crime of child sexual abuse, which killed a nine-year-old girl in Sintra.
According to information released by the Judiciary Police (PJ), the 75-year-old man ensured the transportation of children between the school and their respective homes, without the accompaniment of any other adult or employee.
“Taking advantage of this circumstance, the man inflicted significant sexual acts on the minor, between October and November of last year”, says a statement from the PJ.
“The PJ carried out urgent and appropriate investigative measures for especially vulnerable victims, with the collection of solid evidence and, subsequently, with the arrest of the suspect, in compliance with a warrant issued by the Sintra Public Prosecutor’s Office”, adds this note, saying that the suspect will be presented to the judicial authority for the first judicial interrogation and application of coercive measures.
