The Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado is willing to meet with interim president Delcy Rodríguez “if required” to establish a “transition schedule,” they reported colombian media after having a conversation with the Nobel Peace Prize winner.
The newspaper El Tiempo and Caracol Radio They pointed out that Machado opened the door to meeting with the Chavista leader after the capture of the ousted Nicolás Maduro on January 3 by the United States.

“If it is necessary to exchange in a meeting for the purposes of defining the progress of a transition schedule, then it will be done,” said Machado, quoted by the newspaper with the largest circulation in Colombia, which participated in a videoconference with the opposition leader and local media.

In post-Maduro Venezuela, Machado’s role remains a mystery.
After Maduro’s arrest, Donald Trump questioned the opposition’s ability to take office as president, but lowered his tone after receiving the Nobel Peace medal from her in mid-January.
The opposition denounces fraud in the July 2024 presidential elections, in which Maduro was re-elected.
Machado has still been out of Venezuela since December, when he came out of hiding to travel to Oslo, where he received the award in December.
